More than 40 years ago, Schlueter AC was founded by John Schlueter in Austin, TX to sell and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration units around town. Today, we continue to provide top-notch services that exceed the expectations of our clients.

John Schlueter started Schlueter AC in 1970 as an electronics business, which he later expanded into an air conditioning and refrigeration company. He wanted to branch out to installing central heat and air conditioning units in residences and commercial buildings.

In the late ‘80s, John’s uncle—a registered professional mechanical engineer—retired from his air conditioning business of 40 years. His uncle passed on many long-time customers to Schlueter AC. Many of these customers already knew John from his previous association with his uncle’s business before the ‘70s.

John’s uncle is somebody you would want to meet especially if you have heating and cooling problems. He was a registered professional mechanical engineer, which spanned decades, keeping homes and businesses in Austin cool, and worked hard and smart to provide the best service available for their customers.

Before his retirement, John’s uncle consistently traded technical expertise with him. As a result, John developed various skills that became instrumental to the success of Schlueter AC.
